How PTCG Pocket accounts are graded

Pokemon TCG Pocket has no power progression — the only thing that makes an account valuable is which cards it holds. Rarity is the whole scale:

Crown Rare

The top of the ladder, one per set at most. The single clearest value marker.

Immersive Rare (3-star)

Full-art animated cards. Highly collected, and the usual target for buyers who want a showcase account.

2-star / 1-star full art

The bulk of what most accounts are built from. Count matters more than any individual card.

EX and competitive cards

For players rather than collectors: the meta decks need specific EX lines, and pulling them is slow without a big collection.

Pack Points and Hourglasses

Pack Points are a direct exchange currency — a large balance can simply buy the card you are missing.

What actually moves the price

• Crown and Immersive count. These are the only cards that cannot be reliably obtained by grinding, so they set the floor of the price.
• Set completion. A near-complete set is worth more than the same number of cards spread across five partial sets, because completion is what unlocks the mission rewards.
• Pack Point balance. Points convert straight into missing cards. Treat them as cash.
• Account age and event cards. Promo cards from past events never return. A launch-week account has cards a new account simply cannot get.

Transferring the account

PTCG Pocket links to a Nintendo Account or a Pokemon Trainer Club account, and the transfer flow is deliberately locked down — do this before anything else:

• Log in on your own device and confirm the card collection matches the screenshots.
• Go to the title screen settings and link the account to your own Nintendo Account.
• Remove the seller's link. If the game refuses, stop and contact us — do not keep playing on a shared account.
• Note that unlinking is rate-limited, so plan one clean transfer rather than several attempts.

Region matters: the account is tied to the app store region it was created in. A Japanese account needs a Japanese store account to update the app.

The honest risks

• A Nintendo Account that stays linked is full control of the account. Never accept one that cannot be unlinked.
• PTCG Pocket has no trading of individual cards, so there is no way to salvage value out of an account that gets locked.
• Account trading is against the terms of service — the risk is on you, and the rebinding steps above are the mitigation.
